Appleton Yarn Colour Cards

Appleton Yarn Color Cards are the complete set of every current Appleton Tapestry or Crewel Wool shade available.

These Appleton Yarn Colour Cards are completed with actual samples of Appleton wool which will take all of the guess work out of selecting just the right shade/color for your embroidery project.   Sample colors are Tapestry weight but colors apply to both Crewel and Tapestry weight embroidery wool.

 The shades are conveniently grouped together in their color waves making for easy blending and selection.  There are approximately 446 shades currently available.

Within a color sequence,  the lowest group number is the palest color progressing darker as the shade number increases.

For the last 180 years, the family firm of Appleton Bros has been producing fine quality tapestry and crewel wool. Based until early 2013 in Chiswick, London, near the river Thames, Appletons has moved more recently to the village of Long Crendon in Buckinghamshire, near the historic market town of Thame.  Although the firm is no longer family owned, the essence of the company remains the same, with the quality of the wool and personal attention to detail being of paramount importance.
