Royal Mono Needlepoint Canvas
by Zweigart
Royal Mono Needlepoint Canvas is a blank single weave canvas suitable for pictorial Tapestry, Bargello Needlepoint or Cross Stitch in wool.
Royal Mono Needlepoint Canvas is available in 10, 12 & 14 Count (holes per inch)
Royal Mono Needlepoint Canvas is a single thread canvas where the warp thread is placed an even distance from the weft thread. Royal Mono Needlepoint Canvas is made of a slightly heavier thread than the other canvases – and has a polished look which is due to the sizing. The reason for the sizing is to keep the threads in place separated while it is being woven and then worked. Due to this heavy sizing – mono is very easy to paint on and can also be colored with interior spray paint or water color pencils if you require a different color background.
Royal Mono Needlepoint Canvas is also easy on eyesight because of the simple weave.

In Bargello, distinctive patterns are built up from rows of straight stitches, arranged in a zigzag line, and repeated in varying shades or colors. It is one of the easiest forms of needlepoint as it consists of just one simple straight stitch. This is repeated in different colors and different positions on the canvas, to create striking patterns. Bargello Needlepoint can also be referred to as Florentine stitch, Hungarian Point or Flame Stitch Embroidery.

Only brand of canvas that I use for my wool embroidery. Keeps shape even after a year stretched on scroll frame while I slowly stitch away. Smooth texture to minimise fraying of wool as you pull through.
