The Alsacienne Dápres Tapestry by Royal Paris is a delightful little Dutch girl dressed in traditional costume.

  I wonder as she sets out for her day, if she is meant to be heading to a picnic with a basket full of goodies, but instead she has smuggled her favorite friend, her pussy cat instead??  They look as if they will be having a fun filled happy day! A bright whimsical picture suitable for any little girls room.

Editors Note: For a more modern look, experiment with a combination of threads and textures. Variegated threads can add interest as can metallic, rayon or silk threads for that added sheen and sparkle.  Using matching colors in different mediums lets you introduce texture into your work.   Perhaps consider some textured stitches??  I always think the braiding on the skirt  and the Hair Bow would look a bit special if they  had a bit of sparkle added to them!
