Pattern & Printed Panel Kit

The Needle Lace Sampler 05 by Daaft Designs Embroidery has been created for the experienced embroiderer.   Needle Lace basically uses techniques which are based on buttonhole stitches that are woven either through back stitches or previously woven buttonhole stitches.  Apart from the edges and for staring and ending off, you seldom pierce the fabric with the needle.  Only two types of thread are used in this design, two strands of six DMC Stranded Cotton and a DMC Dentelle.  The design has been divided into sections marked with letters of the alphabet to make the instructions on the pattern easier to follow.

Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia defines Needle lace (also known as needlelace or needle-made lace or point lace) as a type of lace created using a needle and thread to stitch up hundreds of small stitches to form the lace itself.   In its purest form, the only equipment and materials used are a needle, thread and scissors.  The work is then built up using a variety of stitches—the most basic being a variety of buttonhole or blanket stitch.     Click HERE to see a more detailed explanation and histroy.
