(Pre cut lengths)
Embroidery Linen (Pre cut lengths) are available as either an Even Weave fabric which is excellent for structured, precise stitching finish or a Linen fabric may give the illusion of a slight weave imperfection giving a more relaxed finish.
Both types of Embroidery Linen give an overall even finish as both the warp and weft threads numbering approximately the same in either direction however it is Even Weave that is usually used in counted techniques like counted cross stitch, Blackwork, certain types of Hardanger, drawn thread work or pulled thread work. The fabric threads form a grid pattern which allow for distinct “holes” in the corner of each intersection. It’s easy to see exactly where to work the stitches on the grid provided by the weave of the fabric.
Embroidery Linen come in various thread “counts” which are simply an indication of the number of threads per inch in either direction. A low count Embroidery Linen would be a 20 count linen. High count is a little more difficult to define with exact numbers however in general, a 36 or a 40-count Embroidery Linen for counted handwork is considered fairly high count. A 50-count linen would be suitable for very fine work as the counted stitches are worked over one thread of fabric.
Embroidery Linen (Pre cut lengths) are sold here in pre cut lengths as listed.
