The pattern is worked in whole cross stitch, half cross stitch and a outlined in back stitch using stranded embroidery cottons.

Editors Note: this design is would be perfect for a clever beginner to the more advanced cross stitcher however as this is a full stitch design, consider fully graphing your fabric to make following the pattern much easier.  So what I mean by graphing your fabric is starting from the centre of the fabric, stitch a medium long running stitch over every 10 rows  horizontally and then every 10 rows vertically.  This will give you a grid pattern which will match your design Chart and make following the pattern considerably easier.

Cross-stitch is a popular form of counted-thread embroidery in which X-shaped stitches in a tiled, raster-like pattern are used to form a picture. The stitcher counts the threads on a piece of Even weave fabric (such as linen) or Aida (a fabric with more pronounced marked squares)  in each direction so that the stitches are of uniform size and appearance.  Cross-stitch is the oldest form of embroidery and can be found all over the world.
