Editors Note: as this design is completely stitched without any bare background fabric visible, I would suggest that a novice stitcher not use this cross stitch kit  as a beginners project.  I feel it would be more suited to an advanced and more experienced stitcher.

The pattern is worked in whole cross stitch, half cross stitch and a outlined in back stitch using stranded cottons with some blending.

Basic Cross Stitch instructions can be found HERE

Cross-stitch is a popular form of counted-thread embroidery in which X-shaped stitches in a tiled, raster-like pattern are used to form a picture. The stitcher counts the threads on a piece of Even weave fabric (such as linen) or Aida (a fabric with more pronounced marked squares)  in each direction so that the stitches are of uniform size and appearance.  Cross-stitch is the oldest form of embroidery and can be found all over the world.
