There is nothing quite like making a special little someone, for a little someone special arriving soon.   When I had the store in Mt Eliza and we held Teddy Bear Classes, I saw first hand just how much love was stitched into every handmade Bear.  It didn’t matter if it was a gift for a much awaited baby, for a friend or for yourself….. every bear was constructed and stitched from the heart.  Every handmade Bear had its own personality emerge as the facial features were created.  We always tried to work on the head first in class, as it can be the tricky bit.  It was also a good way to prevent your work basket overflowing with headless and unfinished Bears………

Different furs produce different finishes in your bears.   I personally love to re use a pattern over and over again, but vary the type of fur texture to give it a completely different look.  I primarily like to use Schultz Mohair but could use a variety of different textures i.e. long haired, short haired, plush, sparse, curly or wavey.   Using faux fur and synthetics can also produce a different look from the same pattern.

Of course, it is also wonderful to choose a fur and a new pattern and enjoy creating your new little person.
