The L’ Etude by J H Fragonard Tapestry  is a dark, dramatic image of a woman reading a large book, probably the family Bible.

Originally painted in the 1700’s, this image has withstood the test of time in popularity.   The L’ Etude Tapestry has been lovingly converted to a large Canvas for us to stitch from one of  the classic paintings by Jean-Honorë Fragonard.

Editors Note: For a more modern look, experiment with a combination of threads and textures. Variegated threads can add interest as can metallic, rayon or silk threads for that added sheen and sparkle.  Using matching colors in different mediums lets you introduce texture into your work.   Perhaps consider some textured stitches??
